But he also said that he was going to let himself cut loose for a moment and totally lose it, using all of his power, implying that it might result in casualties.In context, Darkseid's forces had been invading for HOURS. It's logical that many of Metropolis' office buildings had been Evacuated, though earlier in the episode we see inside the Daily Planet to see everybody there.So who knows? Maybe Supes just got a bunch of people killed so he could save the universe from Darkseid.

I care, because it sounds stupid. How could he take care of the people who probably got killed inside those buildings while that huge projectile flew through them? He just can't. And it would still be acceptable if they hadn't made him say, just half a minute earlier, that he spends his whole life measuring his strength to not hurt a single person, not even his enemies. =.=

Who cares? He's SUPERMAN. He can and probably WILL take care of all the destruction he caused.
