giammira is right the size of stone used in this building is a damb sight bigger than your normal land building and the waves are big but again if you have a logical mind you will see the most of the wave break on the rocks and the base of the tower and with such strong winds and the upwards splash of the wave it looks alot worse than it actually is remember how long has the tower been there anyway before vid was taken???anybody know construction date???

I would love to be in a lighthouse in waves, it would be so interresting!

Yes, I think they are very well built, but, as you can see and read, not all of them lighthouses are round shaped. Those waves look higher than they actually are because the splashes get driven up and forward by the strong wind, maybe there would be a real danger only if the actual wave was as high as the top of the lighthouse, that would be only a tsunami near the coast...

i suppose if the force was great enough, however as they are circular all the forces as spread out evenly and this things are so well built, i doubt it is likely to have happened.

Is there the possibility/danger that waves like those knock down lighthouses like those? You know, they can take refuge inside at the top, only heavy splashes up there but not the full power of the water. But if it collapses... I don't think it would, but it looked as if it could a couple of times...
