Having driven both the Astra VXR and Focus ST, they focus is the better car all round. However the astra is a little faster, the turbo comes in a tiny bit later but it holds on longer, ST is out of puff at about 5900rpm, the K03 turbo is better suited to cruising than ragging. K04 in the RS should be fun. Astra's gear shift is nasty too, but it is more fun to drive, and also the clutch is better. ST clutch is just too light and lacking in feel, worst thing about the car, everything else is great
