This is just a photo slide show of part of the Whitefish Point Lighthouse Museum in Michigan & some photos of light houses along the North Atlantic coast line from MA to ME. All photos were from our June 2008 vacation. My Wife & I hope that you'll enjoyed watching this video! We didn't quite have enough time to tour through all of the exhibits at Whitefish Point Lighthouse,.....So we'll just have to make another trip sometime in the near future. We were on our way back from Cape Cod & the Boston Ma. area when we decided to make a little sidetrack while we were heading for Green Bay Wi. We realy wanted to see the Edmund Fitzgerald's Bell, That is something that we've wanted to do for many years now! To those who have never visited the Whitefish Point Lighthouse & Museum,...We very highly recomend that you make the trip! It was much better than we originally thought! While there,... you can stroll along the sandy beaches of Lake Superior & or even have a nice picnic! It's a very beautiful scenic place to be!

Wow! I always love to hear the stories of what you've mentioned. One of these years I'd like to sail on the Great Lakes on one of the freighters for a couple of weeks for vacation.Seems like everytime I get along the coastlines of the (Pacific, Atlantic oceans, Gulf of Mexico,Great Lakes) I always get that haunting feeling of the sailors & the ships, Especially when visiting the many Light Houses. I'm sure that you've gotten that feeling as well! Hey Thanks for dropping by!

I love the song, the museum, and your video to go along with the song now I know it may sound selfish but my father worked on the lake freighters with the Cleavland Cliffs Co.a long time before I was born and to be honest although he is gone now I thank god every day that nothing like this happend to him but when I hear the song and think of the ones that was not as fortunate as my self well I just start tearing up I would have to assume they where all good men and God is looking over them now

what a great place to visit. We're going up there tomorrow for a fall vacation. We're really excited about it...plus, it's a great place to get FRESH whitefish !! Not the stuff we get at Red Lobster!!

It sure is a great song! I never tire of it! I was in 5th grade when this wreck happened & the song came out. I remember our music teacher letting us listen to this one several times over a few weeks & then asked us if we'd like to learn & sing this one,...We all agreed & by the following class,...He had everything in print for us. Mr. Lightfoot realy has a great voice, As well as being an all around great performer!!!!!
